Oh, what a marvellous sight A tender girl infused with light Mindfully smiling, rejoicing inside Little did she know the mystery of life Glimmers of hope in a future not told As the twilight is looming and the sun goes down And the purest of hearts, not torn apart The most beautiful girl in the town Where, oh, where did time go? Lost in this flow that never stops passing I see myself now, this creaky woman, Strange how things work out keeping on dashing Limping my way, I cannot see well Times and places that I cannot recall I remember his voice like a mellow spell The most beautiful of them all It could have been worse It should have been better It’s always too late When they wrap up the letter Who will remember what I once was The most beautiful girl The most beautiful girl in the town
